About

Project Idea

Our client is a medical hardware and software provider that helps people recover after having musculoskeletal traumas. The hardware is a horizontal platform that tracks the patient’s movements while they are doing the necessary assessments. To analyze the data and see how the rehabilitation is going, medical professionals have a tablet app that tracks the parameters by recording and analyzing the patient during the assessment.

Our task was to redesign this application and build a new frontend for it.

Wireframes

We created an app map that contains the easiest way for the user to achieve their goals—choosing/creating a patient, starting an assessment, and tracking the progress in reports.

Flutter

Technology Stack

To complete this project, we chose Flutter, a popular open-source UI SDK.  It helps create natively compiled solutions for mobile, web, and desktop from a single codebase.

Flutter has several benefits for cross-platform development:

  • Fast development

  • Native performance

  • Expressive and beautiful UI

  • Access to device features

  • Cost-effective

  • Suitable for MVP development

  • Easy migration and adoption

  • Offline support

How it works

Deep dive on your own time when a computer is convenient, not necessary. Easily export your data if needed.

The data flows through the HD System in seconds. It also saves locally on your tablet when a connection isn’t available

Main challenge

3D-visualization

Challenge: To show where exactly the trauma is located and what zones need working on, we needed to build a 3D-model of a human body and enable it to highlight the affected areas. There should be different colors of highlights for different levels of severity.

Solution: We customized the default 3D-model with the help of the Unity engine and implemented the highlighting feature.
