METAPIX IS AN ANALYTICS TOOL THAT HELPS BUSINESSES TO IMPROVE THEIR SECURITY SYSTEM
Project idea
Our client is a US-based security company that provides businesses and private individuals with CCTV equipment and software. Their most notable unit is a cloud-based platform with rich analytics functionality. The platform is based on a third-party tool, however, its interface was not as convenient as the client wanted.
The task was to redesign the platform and make it more user-friendly and intuitive.
Process
After conducting deep research, we started working on creating user flows. It was very important for us to check every step and every edge case before starting wireframing. We needed to reduce the chance of errors the future users might make and save our client's budget at the same time.

Analytics
Dashboards allow users to arrange and display the widgets the way they want: half or full-width, line charts or bar charts, etc. Also, they can remove or add new widgets to show more relevant data.
Device tree
The main idea of Device Tree is to allow users to group cameras and put them into locations in the order it would be easier to manage them. Users can change cameras’ settings, turn on or off properties, or add tags.
Detected objects
Here users can see more data about people and vehicles that got on the cameras. Indicators help to scan data easier. Cards consist not only of gender, age, and emotions but also of the date when the image was taken and the camera that caught the image.
Challenges and solutions
The platform has a lot of parameters we need to take into account and display them correctly in all kinds of tables and graphs. However, due to the volume of data that constantly gets updated, the visualization aspect was hard to realize.
We solved most of the issues connected with data display by closely communicating with the development team and the client. Our main solution was implementing a customizable dashboard so there is no need to load all the available information.
Results
The project is released.
The client is satisfied with the results.
